How To Update Your Living Room

There should be an image here!As the video below points out, it does not take all that much to turn your existing living room into something truly fantastic. Today you will receive a video tour on just how to update your living room and learning to do so without spending a fortune. How much should you plan on spending? In this case, we are talking about a $1000 or less.

Concentrate on those key elements that make up a room.

Paint – Choosing the right is really something of an art. But one way to keep things simple is to look at what your existing color pallet already is, then work to complement it. Most of the time, you will find people moving toward the warmer Earth tones as this is what best reflects their existing decor. This being said, it should be noted that you should not fear trying to dive into some of the brighter outside colors. With the right lighting, throw pillows and window treatments in play, it’s not that difficult to take an otherwise drag room and make it look a heck of a lot brighter without feeling like you walked into the ’70s.

Window treatments – Once again, most of this comes down to preference. But I good rule of thumb is to know whether or not you are trying to block, limit or allow in maximum light from the outside. Another consideration is whether or not you have pets or kids? If you have either, you will likely want to install something that is resistant to an “active” household as it is being opened/closed with each day. The expense depends on what you are willing to spend when choosing window treatments.

Help with lighting, molding and other considerations can be found in this video below.
